I didn’t set out to build a curriculum toolkit—I just wanted my process to work better.

In the early years of my IEC practice, I found myself constantly reinventing assignments, rewording tasks for families, and feeling like every new student meant starting from scratch. Even with a counseling management platform, I was drowning in backend setup and follow-up.

As my caseload grew, the cracks in my system became impossible to ignore. I knew I needed to streamline—not just for me, but for my students. And I realized: if I could create a structured, student-centered system that worked across clients, I could save time and provide a better experience for everyone.

The thing is, I’ve always been a curriculum builder. Long before becoming an IEC, I was developing UC-approved high school courses and designing AP science instruction rooted in how students learn best. So I began to lean on that part of my background—and WORX started taking shape.

What I didn’t expect was how often a casual share would lead to: ‘Can I use that?’

The first time I shared my system casually—at a college tour, in an airport lounge—I got the same reaction I still hear today:
“That task has a name? I just call it... that thing I remind them to do.”
“You mean your students have written instructions for that?”
“Why hasn’t someone made this already?”

“I need this. Can I steal this? Better yet, can I buy it?”

That kept happening. At conferences, on college tours, in my UCLA courses, on webinars. Every time I shared my process, people asked for more. So I finally listened—and built it.

When I officially launched WORX, over 100 IECs from across the country signed up for the first informational session. And within a month, consultants from coast to coast were already integrating it into their practice.

Now, WORX isn’t just my system—it’s a shared foundation that helps other IECs build stronger, more sustainable businesses while staying true to their own style.
